Moving into a new home doesn’t always mean working with a blank slate. This family envisioned a warm and welcoming backyard gathering area, but they weren’t sure how to overcome the existing issues with the landscape. Poor drainage stood in the way of healthy plantings, a lush lawn, and a structured design that could elevate both the style and function of the living area.

We worked closely with the homeowners to combine their vision with functional and practical solutions while also creating an elegant space. The final result welcomes family and friends for memorable moments outdoors and provides countless opportunities for outdoor living. 

The natural stone patio with a built-in grilling area, seating walls, and a dining space creates the perfect area for hosting holiday barbecues. An additional patio area featuring a fire pit is ideal for summer gatherings to make smores or share drinks by the light of the fire. The lush green lawn makes a great area for hosting birthday parties, and the children love playing on the jungle gym. The family took the design a step further by arranging an ongoing maintenance plan so the landscape is always ready for spur-of-the-moment gatherings and midweek playdates.
